Liz Ewings
A brief history of me
I am a native Northwesterner. I grew up
in Seattle drawing and painting animals, earning a reputation as a
'horsey artist' in my high school art classes.
I studied art at the
University of Washington, and earned my Bachelor's Degree at the
Western Washington Center for Fashion Design and Marketing in Seattle.
I began my career in Seattle, eventually moving to Southern California.
I spent one hundred twenty-six dog years in the fashion industry
designing menswear.
I
lived in Southern California for eleven years, and traveled to several
continents for both business and pleasure. It was in Southern
California that I renewed my love of the outdoors and it's inhabitants.
I
hiked Mount Whitney, camped in Joshua Tree, and was entertained by
dolphins, otters, and other ocean characters while surfing and scuba
diving California's coast.
A birthday trip to Australia and
New Zealand that included sightings of humpback whales at play, cemented my decision to return to the Northwest to pursue art and chase whales.
